代表中國國民黨參選2016年大選的洪秀柱，原本在兩岸政策上主張「一中同表」，即兩岸都是「整個中國」的一部份，雙方「主權宣示重疊、憲政治權分立」，但在黨內要求下，現只強調「九二共識」，而不再提「一中同表」。 此項調整被輿論稱為化解本土派的疑慮。準確地說，應該是「一中同表」在未廣泛說明清楚前，已先遭民進黨和「台獨」媒體抹紅及妖魔化，而非違背本土利益。亦即洪秀柱原本的主張，當然不是站到本土派的對立面，甚至是基於未來的形勢判斷而提出合乎本土利益的新論述，惜因被誤解或遭惡意曲解為「統派」、「急統」，以致不得不做出調整。 其實，只要不是反對「一個中國」，那麼無論各表或同表，都一樣會被民進黨和「台獨」媒體指為悖離本土、不愛台灣、「傾中賣台」。而洪秀柱對兩岸政策的新論述尚未獲得普遍認同時，民進黨和「台獨」媒體的炮火就更加猛烈，以阻斷開拓兩岸關係新局面的機會。 民進黨在兩岸政策上一直都遠遠落後於國民黨之後。代表民進黨參選的蔡英文所謂「維持兩岸現狀」的聲明，無疑是十分勉強的，因為國民黨七年來所推動的兩岸關係，一直被民進黨和「台獨」媒體誣蔑為「傾中賣台」，蔡英文何必東施效顰來維持這個現狀呢？但她此項聲明對歡迎近年兩岸和平、共同發展的主流民意，畢竟仍具一定程度的迷惑性，也有利於她向美國方面示好。 洪秀柱即在此形勢下，為求保持在兩岸政策上對蔡英文的領先距離，而提出前瞻性的論述，儘管未獲黨內或所謂本土派一致呼應，卻絕非違背國民黨或本土的利益，這應該是基本的認知。民進黨和「台獨」媒體即是始終打著本土旗幟來抵制兩岸關係的發展，國民黨自不應掉進對手的邏輯陷阱，否則就有在兩岸政策上被蔡英文拉近距離的可能，從而大減自己的優勢。 洪秀柱曾於6月10日在國民黨中常會發表政見演說指出：「當『台獨』的聲音假民主之名而氾濫時，本黨對抗的論述與政策是不是總顯得虛弱無力呢？一頂『賣台』的帽子，彷彿輕易地就把本黨壓垮，讓我們只要一提到相關問題就瞻前顧後。而在民進黨不斷製造麻煩，拆毀和平基礎時，我們是不是憂讒畏譏，就自我設限，不敢將兩岸穩定的道路往前再推得更廣？」 這是胸懷開闊的本土之聲！那些自我封閉、「逢中必反」、與大陸為敵的政治主張，實質是「台獨」，才真正危害台灣本土利益。 【中央網路報】
